Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy

What is IPL?

IPL is a non-invasive, therapeutic, dry eye treatment that targets the blood vessels surrounding the meibomian glands. It enables them to secrete oils naturally and resume their moisturizing function to relieve symptoms and slow the progression of dry eye.

During treatment, the heat from the light will help liquefy and release oils that clog the meibomian glands in the eyelids.

Our in-office treatment uses a specific range of wavelengths, customized to the patient’s cell absorption characteristics, wavelength of the light used, length of pulse, and amount of energy delivered.

Typically, patients immediately feel a difference, but a series of 4-6 treatments is ideal depending on severity.
